7 Feb 2011
Tekno Surgical are delighted to add the Isolaz™ to their product range. The Isolaz™ is based on proprietary Photopneumatic™ technology and is the only laser or light based devices with FDA marketing clearance for the treatment of inflammatory acne, comedonal acne, pustular acne, and mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne. These conditions impact an estimated forty-to-fifty million individuals in the U.S. annually. Isolaz treatments have an immediate visible impact on acne 24– 48 hour post first treatment and are painless. Facial treatments take as little as 10 minutes, require no anesthetics or numbing creams, and provide additional cosmetic benefits such as smoother appearing skin. “We are very excited to broaden our portfolio of superior solutions for dermatologists and aesthetic physicians with the addition.
How does the Isolaz™ work? The Isolaz controls acne at the source by providing the only technology to combine vacuum and a painless broadband light. The vacuum applies gentle pressure on your pores while the broadband light helps destroy the bacteria causing acne, resulting in radiant, clear skin that is purified from the inside out. Isolaz is scientifically proven and tested. In all researches carried out the Isolaz treatment was tolerated by all patients and no side effects were reported. Patients noted drying and flattening of lesions between 24 and 48 hours after first treatment. 50% reduction in lesions was reported after a single treatment and 90% reduction after 4th treatment. At 3 months post final treatment, reductions in lesion counts were significant for both inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions. Isolaz has been effective on non-responders to traditional therapies, and patients with severe acne experienced the greatest clinical improvement. In all cases, it was concluded that photo pneumatic technology provides a safe and effective treatment for mild to severe acne vulgaris.
What can you do about your acne? First of all you should try to eat healthily, have a diet that includes a large proportion of fruits and vegetables. If you use make-up, try to use oil-free products that are non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic, to stop new acne appearing. It is very important to always remove your make up before going to be, and never rub your face too hard. To avoid permanent scarring you should consult your pharmacist as soon as acne appears, and treat it with some over-the-counter product. When trying something new, you should give a treatment at least two months, as this is the minimum time required to see any substantial improvement. Take into account that topical treatments can irritate your skin so you might need to use an oil-free moisturizer and even apply the treatment only every other night. If none of these work, how can you treat acne? The best option is to visit your GP or dermatologist, they will be able to assess your case and recommend the best treatment for you. There are several different kinds of treatments available for acne; most of them would take between 2 to 4 months to produce any result: topical treatments (such as creams), oral treatments (such as antibiotics or contraceptives) and other treatments including laser, microdermabrasion, peelings and photo pneumatic treatments such as Isolaz™.
